What is Messy Church?
Messy Church is a form of church for children and adults that involves creativity, celebration and hospitality. It’s primarily for people who don’t already belong to another form of church. It meets at a time and a place that suits people who don’t already belong to church.
What do we do at Messy Church?
Happy Birthday Church 17th May 4 – 6pm
We had an absolutely fabulous Messy Church this afternoon! Everyone had great fun taking part in lots of creative activities, including making windmills, maracas, flame headbands and Holy Spirit darts, as well as creating prayer bunting.
The Bubble Church puppets shared the story of Pentecost, also known as the Birthday of the Church. This is the day when the Holy Spirit came to Jesus’ disciples in wind and flames, empowering them to spread the good news about Jesus.
We celebrated with an amazing birthday cake, and our minister, Rev Linda, illustrated the presence of the Holy Spirit within us using balloons. We ended the session with a short prayer and a final song about God’s love.
A huge thank you to all the team who helped set up and worked tirelessly throughout the afternoon — well done, everyone! Special thanks to the Bubble Church team, to Rev Linda for coming to help us today and to Donna who organised all the food and made a fantastic birthday cake.
